At Our client is on the lookout for a sharp, assertive, and inspiring Avionic Systems Engineering Specialist to join their team at their Toronto office.
This isn’t your average engineering gig—we’re talking high-flying projects, legendary aircraft, and a role that puts you right at the heart of innovation. From working closely with production to supporting customer needs and keeping our world-class aircraft at peak performance, you'll be leading the charge.
What You’ll Do (and love):
• Dive into the nitty-gritty—reviewing and approving everything from vendor drawings to test procedures and certification documents
• Make official findings of compliance under Transport Canada Delegation
• Chase down new delegations and mentor future delegate stars
• Define avionics system specs and lay down certification plans like a pro
• Craft rock-solid reports that show how we meet (and exceed) certification requirements
• Be the go-to brain when field or production teams hit a snag
• Lead and mentor junior engineers
• Assess technical proposals and internal program changes with a critical eye
• Get hands-on with aircraft test programs
• Create and review engineering mods to support customer change requests
• Tackle Service Bulletins and investigate in-service fleet issues like a true problem solver
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years avionics experience—designing, installing, integrating, testing, and certifying
• 5 years’ experience supporting airworthiness certification under a TCCA framework of working knowledge of system design, test and certification requirements of aircraft auto flight, communication, navigation including FMS, indication/recording systems, cabin, and onboard maintenance systems.
• Experience with certification standards from SAE, RTCA, ARP, and international authorities like TCCA, EASA, and FAA
