Engineering Manager, Refurbishment
Hours: 40 Hours per Week

This role will be to support major refurbishment projects at Cernavoda Nuclear Generating Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring project activities for large refurbishment projects and will interface closely with the client and 3rd party contractors.
General Accountabilities
- Complete all the technical activities according to project plan in compliance with the requirements of the applicable codes and standards and with the application of the principles of technical consciousness
- Carry out the coordination of the activities of preparation and implementation of project changes and activities resulting from the state evaluations of the SSC included for the purpose of the refurbishment project
- Ensure that the project changes and the activities resulting from the state evaluations of the SSC included for the purpose of the refurbishment project are carried out in compliance with the design configuration control
- Approves the detailed project solutions, the technical specifications, the implementation and testing plans for refurbishment activities in compliance with the design configuration
- Manage timely completion of key inputs and deliverables as necessary to support executive-level critical decisions
- Provide expert counsel in highly technical principles, practices, techniques, and skills of engineering science in order to ensure that all designs meet appropriate standards
- Establish measures to ensure that appropriate engineering documents are prepared
- Provide services and/or fully qualified individuals as required to support program/project delivery
- Verify and check adequacy of engineering deliverables, including detailed solutions, technical specifications, and the implementation and testing plans for refurbishment activities
Selection Criteria
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering is required
- Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization will be an advantage
- 10 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
- In depth knowledge of site outage/installation/maintenance of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
- Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations
- Demonstrated capability to manage and lead
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and high pressure to support unit restart schedules
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions
- A Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) or eligible for PEO status with a passion for engineering is preferred but not required
- Experience in project management and interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary teams
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality
- Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement
This role requires full-time relocation to Cernavoda, Romania for an extended duration. The successful candidate must have a willingness to relocate to Romania for project execution.
