Scheduler/Cost Controller
Locations Hiring: Augusta, ME | Binghamton, NY
Hourly Rate: $45/hr. – $55/hr. (W2)
Duration: 1 Year (Extension Possible)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
Project Type: Power Generation/Utilities

Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in project controlling and 4 years in construction project scheduling.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: CAPM or PMI-SP (or equivalent) is a plus.
- Software Skills:
- Required: SAP experience.
- Preferred: Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Industry Experience: Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro, and OSG.
Role & Responsibilities:
The Scheduler/Cost Controller will support project planning and cost control by producing reports, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining accurate cost data.
Cost Control Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of cost data, including coding and budget allocation.
- Generate accounting and project cost reports.
- Track deviations, under-runs, and over-runs.
- Prepare forecasts and cost trend reports.
- Analyze trends and their impact on project costs.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, and forecasts.
- Maintain change control processes and change order registers.
- Ensure Earned Value Management (EVM) is applied throughout all project stages.
- Perform journal entries when required.
Scheduling Responsibilities:
- Develop an Integrated Master Schedule following customer standards and scheduling tools.
- Plan activities in six-month increments, identifying work on the critical path, tasks with limited float, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Define project sequence and logic, ensuring accurate interrelationships between disciplines and third-party stakeholders.
- Perform schedule vs. baseline analysis, highlighting major deviations.
- Conduct Critical Path Analysis to assess project timelines and budget adherence, identifying potential delays and alternative solutions.
- Provide guidance to project personnel on scheduling best practices.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with functional departments to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support project managers in reconciling program control data with financial and performance systems.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on project planning and cost control.
