The Avionics AME-E Technician leads the installation, setup, and testing of navigation, radio, and electrical equipment on aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Avionics Installation & Testing:
Install and test wire harnesses and avionics equipment per manuals and drawings.
Use laser wire printers to manufacture coded wire harnesses.
Conduct ground and flight testing, including pitot static and transponder tests.
Project Management:
Manage assigned projects and coordinate with sheet metal/mechanical teams.
Collaborate with engineering to update and revise drawings.
Ensure aircraft systems software is correctly updated and configured.
Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance:
Diagnose and repair avionics systems during/after installation.
Perform quality checks in partnership with the Quality department.
Record deficiencies and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Documentation & Organization:
Maintain accurate work orders, logs, and records in SAP.
Ensure production areas are organized, free of debris, and compliant with FOD procedures.
Requirements:
Completion of a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Avionics Maintenance program.
Possession of a TCCA AME-E License.
Minimum of 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience and 2 years in avionics installations.
Familiarity with Garmin avionics equipment is advantageous.
