Join the forefront of aerospace innovation as an Environment, Health & Safety Technician in Montreal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) tasks.
- Collaborate with business unit Managers and Union to enforce ES&H policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial laws by actively engaging with operations.
- Participate in the Peer Audit Program and contribute to the local ES&H committee.
- Conduct job risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, including ergonomic evaluations.
- Perform safety compliance inspections at job sites, generate written reports with recommendations.
- Ensure timely reporting and record-keeping of accidents/injuries and close-call incidents.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety programs, including training initiatives.
- Support environmental programs and compliance with local regulations.
- Contribute to Lockout Tag Out and machine guarding programs, communicate them to employees.
- Ensure compliance with regulations for eye wash stations, emergency showers, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers.
Qualifications:
- Hold an accredited college degree in Environmental Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with Provincial and Federal legislation related to ES&H.
- Proficient in computer skills, research, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills, strategic comprehension, teamwork, autonomy, results orientation, and independence.
- Flexible to work varying shifts (afternoon, night, weekends) and availability for on-call duties.
- Understanding of industrial hygiene issues.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and French.
