Project Controls Specialists
Role: Project Control Specialist
Location: Tiverton, ON - On Site
Rate:$55-$75 Inc
- Ensure that projects follow the gated decision process where applicable; this includes completing design plans and estimates at a level of precision consistent with the gate prior to the critical decision being made
- Coordinate the preparation of the Design Change Package
- Monitor scope compliance in all stages of engineering change process; monitor and report of the project performance including the provision of performance metrics for the project
- Obtain schedule needs and constraints from the owner and work the project team to verify that these can be met
- Ensure that the project team participates in the development and ownership of the project execution strategy and schedule
- Initiate Station Condition Reports to track loss in accordance with the DPT-PDE-00008 and develop a recovery plan where schedules, cost or quality commitments are at risk
- Obtain management approvals to change project budget or schedule if the original plan cannot be achieved
- Communicate cost and schedule status and action plans to the OE and the Project Managers or budget holder
- Chairs project schedule reviews and coordination meetings
- Monitors and reports out on resource utilization against plan
- Identify risks to project schedule, scope, cost, quality and safety and develop plans to mitigate the risk
- Ensure projects are closed out as per DPT-PDE-00046
- Prepare a design quote (DQ) or DVN that provides the basis of a contract between Bruce Power engineering (and its subcontractors) and internal Bruce Power customers; the DQ estimates will be used to calculate CPI, SPI and Schedule Variance Index (SVI)
- Monitors the execution of the project and reports out progress or deviations from the schedule and costing commitments
- Ensures coordination and information flow between Design Sections for multidisciplinary design projects to achieve the schedule objectives
- Keeps the project team accountable for meeting all current and future milestones and for making the necessary schedule recoveries
- Coordinate the estimation and scheduling of projects
- Ensure that estimates meet customer requirements, identify the critical path and float, consist of measurable deliverables of appropriate duration, meet outage ad work management milestones, and are reviewed by resource providers
Requirements:
- Completion of a 4 year university degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Machatronics/Nuclear preferred)
- Five (5) to Eight (8) years of Project Engineering experience
Two (2) to Three (3) years in Nuclear is considered an asset
Must be registered or eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (P.Eng) within the province of Ontario
