Position Overview:
The Senior Avionics Engineer, reporting to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, you will assume a pivotal role within our team, encompassing a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
- Drafting design documents that comply with regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with the Director of Maintenance & Engineering team to co-design electrical and avionics systems.
- Validating and approving technical documentation and drawings generated by our engineering team.
- Ensuring prompt delivery of production and installation drawings and documentation.
- Addressing internal and external engineering inquiries effectively.
- Contributing technical insights to commercial proposals.
- Providing expertise in avionics systems installation and modification designs.
- Conducting essential technical research and documenting findings.
- Securing and documenting formal customer approvals for additional requests.
- Identifying equipment requirements and consulting with vendors for recommendations.
- Evaluating quotations from engineering subcontractors to inform decision-making.
- Participating in certification programs and liaising with design approval organizations.
- Guiding and mentoring the engineering team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Reviewing and refining engineering documentation as needed.
- Reporting opportunities and incidents while suggesting process improvements.
- Demonstrating leadership through fostering innovation to meet industry demands effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma in Avionics Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of avionics experience.
- Proficiency in CARS at the certification level (STC).
- Familiarity with TSO, AC, ARINC.
- Bilingual proficiency in French/English; with strong English language skills, both verbal and written.
- Competence in MS Office and AutoCAD software.
- **Strong drive, motivation, and readiness for challenges.
- **Dynamic initiator with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- **Experience with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with aircraft system interfaces.
- Background in project management.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
- Previous exposure to Quality Assurance systems like AS9000 or ISO 9001.
