Senior Probabilistic Safety Analyst
Location: Mississauga, ON.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for probabilistic safety assessments of plant systems especially in the area of internal events, shutdown, internal fire, internal flood and seismic events as well as other external hazards
- Responsible for conducting reliability systems assessments (process and safety), especially safety systems e.g. emergency core cooling, containment,) balance of plant, and plant operation and safety related systems.
- Interfacing with clients/projects to assess operational and safety issues and advising on potential solutions.
- Preparing and/or reviewing work proposals for internal and external clients.
- Developing risk monitor and generation risk assessments.
- Knowledge of PSA methodologies, codes and standards (e.g. Canadian, US, IAEA).
- Developing, plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the analysis work for a project of large scope.
- Proposing/developing approaches to be used on safety analysis tasks.
- Supervise the work of staff in a multi-discipline setting, provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers and technical employees ensuring work is performed consistent with project requirements
- Provide positive reinforcement and act proactively to encourage positive relationships and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- A relevant Engineering degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the CANDU design, including both NSP (especially safety systems) and BOP
- Broad knowledge of system operation, plant response and understanding of underlying reliability principles.
- Able to work closely and effectively with the clients in a client/consultant relationship.
- Proficient in CAFTA suite of computer codes, CFAST and/or RiskSpectrum an asset.
- Proven leadership skills, as technical guidance to assist and supervise analysts with good communication skills.
- Experience in licensing activities would also be an asset.
- Understanding of light water reactor design and PSAs an asset.
- Ability to work to budget and schedule. Must be willing to travel occasionally to participate in walkdowns, meetings and workshops.
