Role Summary:
The Training Specialist will follow sound instructional design principles to revise existing and create new instructor-led and eLearning courses. They will also support the day-to-day operations of the GEH training team, which will include (but not limited to) Learning Management System support, troubleshooting with learners, and assisting with training reports.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with training leadership and nuclear subject matter experts to define training needs and design courseware to meet those needs.
- Determine instructional and delivery strategies, leveraging current technology to develop effective state-of-the-art training, including online computer-based training applications.
- Structure course content and activities for adult learning.
- Create media to support learning (e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e- learning and online).
- Revise current course content as needed, to improve learner outcomes.
- Create project plans and execute according to schedule.
- Assist with Learning Management administrative tasks.
- Perform other related activities and functions as assigned by the Training Manager/Leader
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- 3+ years experience in instructional design and developing training materials for adult learners including graphics, illustrations and multi-media training content using current industry approaches, processes, standards, and tools.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), or ADDIE to training projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical English composition, grammar, syntax, formatting, etc.
- Ability to work independently, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team player with strong interpersonal, planning, project leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in the following software applications: MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Articulate 360 (particularly Storyline) or similar software tool.
- Demonstrated personal integrity with ability to handle proprietary, confidential, export controlled and complex technical information.
