Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Maintain the chart of accounts to support effective reporting and analysis.
- Produce timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial reports and statements, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to calculate financial and operating metrics and develop insightful dashboards and KPIs.
- Support the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
Financial Operations & Process Improvement
- Document and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Identify and address gaps in accounting processes, optimize ERP systems, and execute process improvements for continuous advancement.
- Oversee customer billing accuracy and timeliness across all revenue streams, including hardware orders, ongoing services, and subscriptions.
- Research tools and methodologies that support automation and scalability for a high-growth environment.
- Assist the VP, Finance & Administration with effective processes and reporting for order book and financial metrics, optimizing sales/inventory planning and working capital.
Finance Team Leadership
- Oversee accounting operations, designing an organizational structure that meets departmental objectives.
- Mentor finance team members to support their learning and professional development.
Taxation & Treasury Management
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, federal, and international reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Oversee the preparation of corporate tax returns and SR&ED incentive claims.
- Prepare reports for external funding agencies/programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely funding receipt.
- Manage and report on cash positions and forecasts, collaborating with the parent organization’s treasury team to maintain effective working capital.
Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, including 2+ years in a financial leadership role post-designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Canadian CPA designation.
- Experience with high transaction volumes and automated/scalable process design to support growth.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms and multi-dimensional chart of accounts structures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation achieved through an audit/public practice path.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP software.
- Additional post-secondary education (e.g., MBA, executive certifications) to support finance team coaching and development.
- Training or experience in project management or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with multi-entity, multinational corporate structures.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 CAD. The final offer will depend on the successful candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
