PMO Director
Location: Chalk River / Remote
Duration: 1 Year (Can be extended annually)
Hourly Rate: $130/hour
Role Overview
As the PMO Director, you will oversee the governance, alignment, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across CNL. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for establishing project management best practices, ensuring consistent execution, and aligning project initiatives with organizational strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in project governance, stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of complex technical projects within highly regulated environments.
- Responsible for the PMO, its staffing, training, planning, reporting, and overall success.
- Responsible for proper planning of scope, cost, and schedule; documenting agreed upon element; and preparing for delivery of required documentation.
- Responsible for reporting on CPI, SPI, ETC, EAC, and other PMI matrices.
- Responsible for proposing corrective actions when metrics are not adequate.
- Responsible for addressing project management issues, including those for HR, training, supply chain, delivery, and execution.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g., MBA, PMP, or PgMP certification) is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large, complex projects in the nuclear industry is mandatory
- Demonstrated success in implementing PMO frameworks in matrixed organizations.
