25-024 Federal Pay Equity Project Lead

Duration: 11 Months
Hours of work: 35 per week
Location: Pickering, ON (Hybrid – to be determined based on project needs)
Being required on site in the office will be determined on a weekly basis depending on the project needs. There may be weeks where Pay Equity Committee meetings will be everyday, so you would be expected to be in the office every day that week. There may be weeks when there are no meetings, those weeks they be worked remotely or hybrid.
Job Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Federal Pay Equity Project Lead to oversee and guide initiatives related to pay equity compliance and implementation within our organization.
Reporting to the Director Compensation & benefits, you will manage project timelines and ensure adherence to federal pay equity legislation.
Your expertise in compensation practices, particularly within government or energy sectors, will be critical in developing strategies, conducting analyses, and fostering equitable pay structures across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of federal pay equity projects
- Conduct pay equity analyses, identify gaps, and develop actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with HR, legal, and leadership teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Build relationships with leaders at all levels of the organization, centers of excellence, unions, and vendors
- Coordinate and facilitate regular committee meetings with union and management representatives with the goal of obtaining alignment on decisions
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including legal counsel, third party vendors, and centers of excellence for alignment
- Prepare briefs, presentations, and updates for the Executive Leadership Team and Board members
- Remain up to date on Pay Equity Legislation, present proposals to the Pay Equity committee, and collaborate to obtain alignment on decisions
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on pay equity practices and policies
- Prepare and present detailed reports to senior leadership and regulatory bodies as needed
- Lead the Pay Equity Committee to support in advancing business objectives and achieving results
Qualifications, skills and experience include:
- Experience with compensation within complex union environments
- Strong project management and leadership skills, PMP would be an asset
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to confidently lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and keep groups focused and on track
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure objectives are met effectively
- In-depth knowledge of pay equity legislation and compensation frameworks in government or energy sectors
- Exceptional communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
- Experience working in high-stakes or structured environments is an asset
