Your role within the team:
Preparation of nuclear facilities layouts.
- Updating or review of compliance program documentation (Facility Operations Program, Licence Management Program, Fire Protection Program etc).
- Preparing facility operations procedures and associated forms or route sheets such as for:
- Waste Water System
- HVAC System
- Breathing Air System sampling process
- Supporting operations of Zone 3 area equipment:
- Building Automation System for temperature control, dehumidification system, checking functionality / alarms and trending data
- Breathing Air System
- Air Exhaust System including Fume Hoods
- Makeup Air Unit
- Waste Water System including Pumps and Filtration
- Providing design support on potential SP3 Zone 3 expansion projects.
- Ongoing review of laws, regulations, codes and standards in order to judge compliance of in-field operations as well as alignment with internal documentation.
On an ongoing basis expect to provide comments on procedures or forms being prepared, typically this has included those generated under the compliance programs or for facility operations. These reviews are to:
- ensure requirements and process is aligned with actual operations and/or facility management direction / expectations,
- ensure compliance programs / licence requirements / regulatory requirements match within document,
- ensure a quality document is produced (flow, typos, editorial comments).
Leadership –
- Growing leadership capability by assisting senior personnel and tracking communications with projects on commitments by facility team.
- Proficient communication skills in order to exchange information (both written and oral).
- Communication occurs daily with personnel in order to communicate / resolve issues discovered.
Problem solving / Decision making –
- Ability to accomplish assignments on time and with good quality.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and to work under pressure
- Must be capable of communicating technical and non-technical information within Candu personnel.
The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in either Science or Engineering;
- Knowledge of Canadian (and other jurisdictions) nuclear regulations and licensing process; CSA and IAEA standards, requirements and best practices.
