We're currently aiding a leading aviation company in their quest for a Structural Stress Engineer at their location in Mississauga, ON.
The chosen Structural Stress Engineer will be tasked with designing and/or supporting the structural design team, conducting structural (stress) analyses, and creating relevant documentation. They will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with the Design Manager and the structural delegate, contributing to the enhancement of analysis methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD software for the 3D design of structural modifications, such as new equipment installations and antenna setups.
- Produce certification/substantiation documentation, which includes Damage Tolerance Analysis, load, and stress data. Proficiency with AFGROW software is advantageous.
- Review internal drawings/documentation to ensure technical accuracy.
- Assess the impact on airworthiness standards (CAR, FAR), and suggest methods for compliance.
- Stay updated on Transport Canada and international airworthiness standards.
- Engage in discussions related to project design and airworthiness concerns.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
- Four or more years of aviation experience.
- Proficiency in aircraft structural design using SolidWorks and Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Experience in static analysis, damage tolerance, and fatigue analysis.
- Familiarity with TCCA, FAA, and EASA aircraft certification guidelines and policies.
- Competence in AFGROW and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
