The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for repairing and enhancing the structural and body components of aircraft. This involves structure repairs, modifications, and sheet metal fabrication to replace worn parts, especially on aircraft for which the crew is certified.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and rebuild aircraft structures like wings and fuselage using various tools and equipment.
- Conduct complex structural repairs and modifications using technical expertise.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering specifications to assess and resolve issues.
- Perform damage assessments and collaborate with team leaders to ensure work aligns with schedules.
- Order necessary parts and maintain technical knowledge of airframe components.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Structure or Sheet Metal program or equivalent.
- Transport Canada S license (preferred).
- Five years of aviation-related sheet metal work experience
