Aircraft Electrical Avionics Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical and avionics design of installations, modifications and components; Understand and comply with hardware and software interface documentation.
Propose technical strategies for integration.
Preparation of technical documentation supporting the approval of aircraft modifications, including engineering analysis/substantiation (ELA, TLA, EMC), engineering drawings, and test plans;
Determine in-service documentation requirements.
Assemble technical data,
Prepare and contract for technical publications to support the release to service of design changes.
Project Management including estimation (cost, schedule) for integration of aircraft modifications
Prepare Feasibility study and cost evaluation of various modification projects in collaboration with equipment vendors and present recommendations.
Present options assessed in terms of compliance, performance, cost, and risk.
Oversee parts obsolescence and propose current alternatives or equivalencies.
Manage technical data (track changes, manage revision status, archive effectively)
Liaise with installation and aircraft production teams / modification lines to ensure correct information is used and understood
Liaise with flight line maintenance to resolve in service avionics issues;
Support configuration management in collaboration with Fleet Managers.
Maintain accurate and timely reports on project progress and cost.
Perform other related duties as required Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering and five (5) years related experience in the aerospace industry (military or commercial)
Comprehensive Knowledge of Avionics systems, their function, purpose, and/or impact on safety&airworthiness.
Knowledge of Configuration Management, Airworthiness Clearance, Certification and Design processes;
Knowledge of aircraft design rules and standards pertinent to avionics, their design approvals, and methods and means of certification;
Fluent with the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of SharePoint, an asset
Able to use AutoCAD fluently
Possess effective interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Good knowledge of technical publications for aircraft and training systems.
Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Fluent written and oral communications skills in English
Professional proficiency in French, an asset
