Industrial Painter
We're currently looking for Painters for our client in the defense industry! Reporting to our Manufacturing Manager, you'll be responsible for priming and painting shelters and components, including necessary prep work such as masking, taping, sanding and blasting as required. You should also be able to mix, blend and match paint colors according to paint manufacturer specifications. You'll be expected to prepare parts and enclosures to meet time, cost and quality requirements. You'll work in accordance with paint shop procedures. You may be required to work shifts and overtime as needed to meet projected manufacturing demands. Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

Primary Job Function:
- Painters will prepare, mask, tape, and apply surface coatings to deployable shelters and associated components. Mixing, blending and matching of colors is also their responsibility.
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Duties:
- Responsible for priming and painting shelters and components. Includes necessary prep work such as masking, taping, sanding and blasting as required.
- Must have the ability to mix, blend, and match paint colors in accordance with the specifications of the paint manufacturer.
- Prepare parts and shelters to meet time, cost and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of health and safety, fire and environmental issues.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work in accordance with paint shop procedures (housekeeping and good work practices).
- Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.
Employment Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in a professional paint sprayer position.
- Commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team and, after training, with minimal supervision.
- Red Seal, Auto Body Painter (will be considered as the equivalent of 5,400 hours of practical experience in an auto body painter occupation).
- Military Occupational Specialty - 00134 Material Technicians are encouraged to apply.
- Two years of prior experience in a prep and paint environment is preferred.
- Attention to detail. Ability to follow procedures and instructions.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other stakeholders.
- Must be able to meet the requirements of export control and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
