Role Summary:
Staff Augmentation position (Lead Scheduler) for the BWRX-300 project within Nuclear Advanced Technology, specifically associated with schedule management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the GEH BWRX-300 Standard Plant Project Controls Lead in performing schedule development, maintenance, and management duties.
- Be directly responsible for schedule related project responsibilities; e.g., overseeing the schedule management process, tools, metrics, and schedule analysis activities.
- Support the GEH PMO Schedule Manager with development of process improvements.
- Support the GEH PMO Lead Estimator with development of process improvement and maturity refinements, including constructability.
- Facilitate the development of schedule estimate scope basis and assumptions.
- Plan/coordinate incorporation of project management lessons-learned and best practices.
- Assist in improving the master schedule process for the business line.
- Apply OPEX to develop opportunities to improve the project estimates and schedules.
- Mentor less experienced personnel for career development.
- Facilitate integration of and communication across GEH internal and external stakeholders including development of plans, procedures, and training programs.
- Support the GEH cost and schedule change control process.
- Integrate the schedule with the GEH risk management effort.
Qualifications:
Overall 30+ years of project controls, estimating, cost engineering, planning, scheduling, and risk management experience. Expertise with scheduling systems, particularly Primavera© is expected.
- BS degree in construction management or similar.
- 30+ years project controls experience as part of an EPC organization, predominantly scheduling.
- 10+ years project controls experience as part of project controls consulting firm.
- Substantial project controls experience supporting new nuclear project construction and major nuclear plant modification projects.
- Proven experience with first of a kind (FOAK) nuclear projects for developing/integrating work breakdown structure (WBS), division of responsibility (DOR), code of accounts, earned value reporting and rules of credit for engineering, design, and construction, construction commodity installation unit rates, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Past positions leading project controls teams on nuclear power and other complex multi-$ billion projects.
- Past experience developing projects controls plans, procedures, and training programs.
- Experience with rolling wave planning with long range accuracy.
- Experience with nuclear OEM programs.
Desired Characteristics
- Preferred is experience with Ontario Power Group PMO and Project Controls organizations.
- Ability to travel to GEH Wilmington NC offices with regularity.
