Scope:
A Network Analyst, reporting to the NetOps Team Lead, is required for the following:
• Network review and Redesign of Core and Edge infrastructure to simply support, improve performance, and decommission aging hardware
• Migration to Cisco Catalyst / DNA Center for Wireless monitoring and management
• Tier 3 assistance for complex problems the operation team are working through
• Transition Cisco ASA Firewalls to the Cisco Secure Firewall platform (formerly FTD, managed using FMC)
• Will assist the Protected Services Unit with duties as required
Duties:
The candidate will be responsible for implementing, modernizing, managing and supporting our network infrastructure, along with proactive monitoring, analysis and reporting.
• achieve a high availability IT network infrastructure and IT network services, in accordance with the government of Alberta, Technology Services, Service Level Agreements.
• hands-on implementation, upgrading, trouble-shooting of network software and hardware infrastructure.
• manage and prioritize workload. Check and balance the workload against the team requirements, to result in a service delivery model characterized by cross-training, workload sharing and collaborative team effort.
• effective teamwork and proficient communication with team members and supported ministries.
• lead and/or participate in networking projects, and plan, design, implement, support and document best practices.
• participate and contribute to cross-function IT projects by providing technical IT networking know-how and expertise.
• perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution.
• plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
• develop and maintain documentation.
• develop network related procedures.
• provide cross training and knowledge transfer to team members.

Working Hours: 08:15 – 16:30 M-F Alberta time - 36.25 hrs per week
Work must be done from within Edmonton, Alberta, due to network and data security issues.
Rates: $84.95 INC - $78.16 SP - $73 T4
Notes on Location:
• Resource would mainly work onsite, though may be able to work remotely on occasion.
