Title: Testing Lead - IWMS Implementation Project
Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Chalk River, ON - work from home and on site
Overview:
CNL is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Testing Lead to oversee the testing and quality assurance activities for the IWMS (Integrated Workplace Management System) Implementation Project. As the Testing Lead, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive testing efforts to ensure the stability, functionality, and reliability of the IWMS system. Your expertise in test management, test design, and defect tracking will be essential in delivering a high-quality IWMS solution.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other project stakeholders including the Vendor subject matter experts to develop a robust test plan that outlines the testing approach, methodology, objectives, and resources needed for the project.
- In cooperation with the Vendor experts, develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases that align with the project implementation methodology (i.e. iterative / modular vs one-time) and CNL’s requirements. Identify test data needs and establish testing environments.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of test cases, ensuring that all functionalities of the IWMS system are thoroughly tested, and results are documented systematically. Define and apply the appropriate test methods (and tools), measurements and metrics.
- Utilizing CNL or Vendor defect tracking tools, establish and maintain a structured defect tracking and management process. Track defects, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with the development team to resolve issues.
- Provide regular test status updates to project stakeholders, including test progress, test coverage, defect metrics, and any potential risks or issues.
- Plan, coordinate and control all testing efforts (e.g. Performance, Integration, Regression, UAT testing, etc.) to ensure seamless effective functionality of the IWMS system as well as its integrations with other CNL systems.
- Collaborate with end-users and the Vendor experts during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to assist and guide testing efforts and assist in issue resolution. Ensure that UAT feedback is captured, addressed, and incorporated into the final solution.
- Coordinate with CNL Security Team and other parties re performance and security testing to validate system responsiveness, scalability, and security.
- Evaluate opportunities for test automation and work with the testing team to implement automated test scripts, increasing testing efficiency and repeatability.
- Track, document and report progress of testing activities and report test results to CNL, provide support in go/no-go decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Testing Lead or Test Manager, preferably in large-scale technology implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
- Experience in creating and executing test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for complex systems.
- Proficiency in test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Knowledge of integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and security testing best practices.
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or similar testing certifications are advantageous.
- Familiarity with testing in Agile or iterative development environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, reproduce, and report defects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional project teams.
- Experience with Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS), Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS), Computer Aided
- Facility Management (CAMF), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is strongly preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using MS Office as well as other tools including email and intranet systems.
